Mahmoud Mansi

Mahmoud Mansi

Mahmoud Mansi was born in 1986, in Alexandria. He studied Finance in The Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport. He discovered his writing talent when he turned sixteen, right after the sudden death of his father, but all his works were kept in darkness until he published his first novel: A Journey from Darkness to Light in 2010. Until 2011 he published six articles, thirteen short stories and two book reviews. He was the only Egyptian to win “A Sea of Words” literary award for 2010 for his short story; The Island.
He is also a playwright, poet, critic and photographer but lots of his work is kept unpublished yet. He writes in Arabic too, but mainly in English to communicate with a wider range of minds, and to reflect the native Arab philosophy and literature to the other side of the world.
His passion is in reviving the old native art that was used in ancient churches, mosques and the same used in building the pyramids of Giza. This kind of art is the one used to blend literature, science, culture, philosophy, spirituality and beauty into one complete piece. His writings in general tend to have the same formulae of this equation that speaks to the common culture between Humanity, for this reason Mahmoud Mansi is mainly nicknamed by “The Native Writer”.
He is currently working in the same university he graduated from as a Human Resources Specialist, holding a MA degree specialized in Marketing and initiating a new writing foundation for supporting Egyptian literature, by the name of “The Forgotten Writers”
“I do not write to confront another being, but I write to confront Literature itself, to confront Art... This is how we Humans excel.” Mahmoud Mansi

In the world of Literature, we as writers sometimes refer to the champion of the story as a “He / She” or as an “I”. This is not done randomly but each has its own reflection into the realm of the story. When we use the

I am not going to look at other countries right now and compare. I will not speak about a far reality and give examples from countries that have been economically stable for decades and applying democracy since our birth. No, instead I will speak
